$300 is too much for this berry with the talk of a QNX one being around the corner. But still is AT&T going to have it?

I helped a friend order his this morning through customer retention and it only cost him $141.99 after tax. I thought it might be a mistake and repeated the charges to be billed his creditcard and the oreder was placed. Hopefully it will get here with no problems. I am waiting till November to get mine.

At that cost, might as well buy it out right and not have a 2 year contract...but they'll come down in price. Willing to bet they will come down to $250, and then $150 eventually.

Of course. The $299 initial price means when they move it to a more reasonable price, it will look like a big sale!

Launching at that price certainly doesn't do any good for RIM, which is already struggling. Obviously, people are willing to pay it, but still, did the 9000 launch at 299.00? I don't remember. Seems every other BlackBerry has launched at 199.00 or less. Still can't believe AT&T launched the 9810 at 49.99.

My gripe here: I envy you guys.
Here its selling for 980,00US, unlocked.
Vodafone and others will launch, soon at 700,00US.
With lock and chain it will be cheaper, but the final cost will exceed 1100,00US.
    Should I weep? Yeah, starting...

I have a spare room at my house, Del, and the rent is fairly cheap.

Thanks. But no. I need to rent you one so I can afford a BB here... I need 3 months rent upfront.
