It's ok Apple is liked by environmentalists, so it can't be happening

I must say that if you truly want to see environmentally friendly companies you should look to Europe who have had laws governing pollutants for a long time (look at the Thames clean up, the disappearance of SMOG etc.) In the US you don't get cleaner you buy carbon credits which makes people rich (Mr Gore being one). So if it doesn't happen in the US the eyes are shut to it. Apple should govern the companies it uses to build it's hardware, just as every other company should do, the same laws should apply wherever the company works. It is often very difficult to control suppliers, but if the client takes a stand and stops buying from the supplier, the supplier will make an effort to improve.

In Europe you can also buy credits. But it's just so damn expensive, outta the roof pricing and penalties to add,
plus all and every kind of taxation sur-chargers and the cancellation of tax incentives (0%), that all companies prefer to think and do clean. From word go now. Apple wouldn't be able to manufacture anything here.
The end result like you say Dave, we're much cleaner.
