| Tour Unlocking from Verizon
So, I am looking at getting the Tour in the near future, and was wondering about the global capabilities. I essentially refuse to pay VZW absurd international roaming rates, and am therefore wondering if anyone has gotten their's unlocked and how easy it was. Some ppl have reported other devices as easy as giving VZW a call and asking for it. Does that policy still apply for the tour? Has anyone unlocked their tour? and by what process. Cheers, Rhorie |

| Unlocking the Tour
I just did it- Very simple - called customer service, got to International Assist desk, and a few code entries later, it was done. You need a VERIZON SIM card installed (Tour comes with one). You can then use a foreign carrier's card in the phone. DON'T FORGET to switch the signal to GSM - automatic may not work. (They do tell you that it may not work - but I did it w/ the 8830 and it was fine). Ken |
