    Speed test on tour

    Jul 16 14:35:48

Here are the Speedtest results for my Blackberry:

    Connection Type: Carrier
    Avg. Download Speed: 463.92Kbits/s
    Max. Download Speed: 558.21Kbits/s

    Avg. Upload Speed: 340.6Kbits/s
    Max. Upload Speed: 400.0Kbits/s

I just used the speed test application on my new tour and noticed it beat out my curve by 300kbits/sec for downloading, and a lot more for uploading.

    That's a major upgrade!

Yeah, FedEx just delivered mine about an hour ago so I'm getting it setup on my BES now and ready to give it a test drive.

    Thanks for posting your results.

Yeah sorry I didn't post the link. I made a thread before about the speed test, but I thought it was appropriate to do so for the Tour.

I think the speed has enhanced majorly.

I think my 8330 Curve on Verizon maxed about around 240kbits/sec.

Your welcome everyone.. To whoever got the Tour as well, I hope you enjoy it.

These are mine on Sprint. I was inside of my apartment building. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Is there a setting or something that I have wrong? My speeds are no where near yours.

Could be service you had at the time. I was sitting on my couch when I did it myself. I don't even think I had full bars either. It could just be where you live and the carrier you have.

    Connection Type: SPRINT NOW NETWORK
    Avg. Download Speed: 587.99Kbits/s

    Avg. Upload Speed: 51.76Kbits/s

I'm getting my Tour tomorrow. It would disappointing to have DL speed lower then 600Kbits/s

True. I think you have to run it a few times and take an average. I ran it again for about 3 times back to back and the numbers went up then down. I am sure that it depends on signal strength and how tasked the network is at the moment. Nice app though. Thanks!

Currently running the world editions. Phone is out for delivery. Order early Sunday, Sprint really mess up on the logistic of this high demand phone.
