    Question Does your Tour freeze?

I switched from an 8330 to a 9630 and I absolutely love it! However, it will randomly freeze and I would have to do a battery pull. Does that happen to others? I've had it for only two days, and the first day I got it, it froze while just sitting there. It froze three times the first day, and twice today. I'm thinking I want to trade it for another one, but I had such a difficult time with my corporation's IT people in connecting it to my corporate email account and Outlook, I am hesitant to go back to Verizon to switch it with another Tour!

I just made the same switch, love the tour (although 2nd Tour do to come soon) as well. I had the very same problem and let Verizon know if problem persisted that I would be returning for new (not rebuilt) phone. I figured out, the tour takes more time to boot on (which isn't illustrated on display) then my curve & when you try to do a function while coming on, it would freeze. Also it would freeze if I had 3rp party apps running while booting on.

It did it a few time buts hasn't in the past week when I wait. Maybe mine just needed to reboot a 3/4 times

Do you have the most recent OS?

Yes, I checked with VZW - I had the latest software so the handset must have had some defect. I exchanged that Tour for a brand new one and it has worked beautifully. BTW, VZW provides such great service, both thru tech support by phone and customer service at the store.

Glad you got it replaced (fixed) Karen and glad to hear that Verizon has treated you well. I was following for 2 reasons: I'm a Verizon customer and due to upgrade my 8330 in the near future - it's time for me to move on. Just observing users experiences for now.

You won't be sorry going to the Tour. It is noticeably faster (browser and send/receive messages) and is very sexy! I loved my 8330, but the 9630 is light years ahead of the 8330, IMO. The screens are much more attractive, too. It is a slimmer device (not as bulky as the 8330), but has enough heft that it doesn't feel as plastic as the Curve.

You MAY want to wait for the Tour2 JB which is coming soon, it will have all the goodness of the Tour, PLUS wifi and a trackpad instead of a trackball. Plus it'll have 5.0 out the door too.

Thanks for the info/advice to you both (karen and pk) - I'm thinking seriously about the Tour 2 and not waiting for a BB with a full screen and slide/flip-up full keyboard too. IF that comes from RIM I think it'll probably ONLY be AFTER I have upgraded anyway.
