Guys i am connecting my Tour to my laptop and running Tether to surf the net. I would like to stop the BB from charging when connected via USB as it drains my laptop battery twice as fast it seems

Anyone know how to do this? thanks

Go into device manager and under universal serial bus controllers right click on blackberry smart phones and right click then disable. Restart the pc.

It won't tether if you do disable it this way.

You could also try pairing the BB to your laptop via Bluetooth and run the tethering that way, but the Bluetooth connection will also drain your laptop battery. Just maybe not as fast as charging the BB. I use this setup with my Tour and it works like a charm.

I agree with this suggestion as well, test it out and see if it eases up on the laptop battery some.
