    Review: Sena Magnetflipper Curve case

    Greetings,
I posted this on another thread, but thought it should go here as well.
I been lurking heavily around this forum for the past week since aquiring my new Curve. I just recently seperated from my 7230 after a 3+ year affair where it had been clothed in a Piel Frama flip case. That case was well made, with good customer support, yet lacked an LED cutout which I thought was a glaring ommission that they carried over into their Curve case as well. Due to the rise of the Euro they were getting a bit pricey, too.
Through this forum I learned, among other things, of Sena cases and just received their magnetic flip case. The ordering process was easy, they also had a live person on the phone, and regular delivery only took 4 days. The case arrived in perfect shape via USPS and was neatly boxed, although it strangely had a cloth drawstring bag packed seperately in the box.
Initital fit was extremely snug, which is a good thing, and the cutouts matched perfectly. This is a reverse flip case, meaning that it opens down rather than up and uses a magnetic catch to stay closed. It remains to be seen how well that will work.
The leather quality is outstanding, as is the color, which is much richer than it shows on their website. Their customer service agent described my particular brown color selection perfectly as matching the shade of a Hershey bar wrapper. I'm sure they have other real world descriptions for the other colors as well.
The sleep function also worked as advertised. The clip is about average and seems to be able to lock in at an angle or swivel. The release function is stiff, but that could be because it is new.
The interior slide pocket is very tight, and was difficult to insert anything, but did seem to ease up with a bit of effort. The cutout window is an odd size, and not good for much as far as I can tell. On my last case I used the window for a photo and thought about doing the same with this one until it dawned on me that my new device now has a camera. Duh. Still, I'm not sure what use the cutout is, but I will buy extra micro sd cards to utilize those 2 cutouts as well.
The case is not as thickly padded as the Piel Frama, which is not a bad thing for a smaller device like the Curve. I did notice that the piece of leather on top of the trackball does interfere a bit with it's range of motion. That may or may not change through use.
The Sena is sort of like a cross between a skin and a flip case. I've yet to really use it, but for now so far so good. My next obssesive project is new earphones...another cyber shopping quest.
    YMMV,
    b.

I got the baby blue one for my 8800 (like you I had the Piel (in red) for my beloved 7290). The trackball cutout is awkward, the edge of the leather beneath the spacebar is as well, probably because I was used to using it for 2 weeks without a cover. And mine came IN the cloth case within the box. Its real sharp and everything you said. The only thing I don't like is that the clip is black. My other case had a red clip to match the leather.

    Greetings,
I don't seem to have enough posts yet for a link or photos, yet I did see another thread on Sena cases that had photos. I would imagine you could do a search and find it.
    YMMV,
