REVIEW: Mobile DVR Scheduler from Directv

I am almost as addicted to my DVR as I am my BlackBerry ... almost. Recently (I know, I'm kind of slow) I found out that I could do all my DVR scheduling from the internet. While browsing tonight to make sure I have all my shows set up (so glad the writers strike is long over and looking forward to new seasons), I noticed that they had a mobile scheduler. So I did what every addict would do, I logged on to try it out.

Using my already created username and password, I logged in to m.directv.com

Entourage is one of my favorites, so I chose that to use as an example. It comes up with regular AND Hi-Def channels.

Choosing the HD channel -- and to record the series (notice it also shows the description)

And .. it knows where my DVR's already are! Choose the DVR of your choice and prioritize.

If you are on the go or out and about as much as me, sometimes you can't make it to the TV or PC to record your favorite shows/movies. Use your BlackBerry, log on to m.directv.com and schedule your shows straight from your device! Its that easy!

If only Comcast did this, which they should since they are a bigger company and name....
I miss about 2 or 3 shows every couple of weeks because I go out and forget to check my DVR for my scheduled recordings! This would almost be a life saver!

    Awesome! Thanks Cherri!

I'm assuming that is a DirecTiVo it's picking up in the list of devices?

I switched from DirecTv to AT&T U-Verse earlier this year. Way better service.
From the very beginning I was able to access my DVR on my phone to schedule programming.
I was wondering when other TV service providers were going to do this.
Another cool feature about U-Verse is that you can access your Flicker photos on your TV (provided you have a Yahoo acct).

I use this all the time! Can't tell you how much it's saved me from missing shows/games that I've forgotten to record. Only bummer is that you can't set buffers, but that's minor.

    Nice Cherri

Smile DVR scheduling on my BB???

As Montomery burns from the Simpsons would say, 'Excellent!'

As soon as i can find it again, i'm gunna get this clever little prog on my bb, and start recording!

It's also probably the best thing since sliced bread was first thought of. hehe

This is a very good thing for me as I am on the road a lot and I have two DVR's one in the main room and one in the bedroom and i can set up the recording on the fly. Gotta love DirecTV.
