    Review: GridMagic for BlackBerry

Verdict: Great application for portable spreadsheet creation, editing and syncronizing with Microsoft Excel.

Pros: Very user friendly, and has all of the most frequently used features of Microsoft Excel including...

Supports 65,536 rows and 256 columns.
    Multiple sheets per workbook.
    Cell and text formatting.
    Alignment, borders and background colors.
Easy cell editing with real-time preview.
    Preview for formatting.
Cut, copy and paste cell data.
Insert and delete cells, rows and columns.
    Zoom in or out.
    Row and column resizing.
    Managing workbooks with categories.

Cons: One feature that would enhance this application would be the ability to receive a spreadsheet via email and open it with GridMagic, then send it back via email.

Price: $34.95 at 20% off for a limited time! (usual price: $43.75)

Overall Rating: 4.5 out of 5

Hi everyone. I recently downloaded GridMagic and have been using it for a couple days. This is a nice app for those of you that want to be able to create a spreadsheet from your BB and syncronize with your pc for emailing, printing or sharing with others.

The original price of this app is $43.75, but for a limited time you will receive 20% off, making the price $34.95. Which I think is a reasonable price for what this app lets you do. It is very important for me to have access to spreadsheets on the go, and this app lets me do just that.

Here is the link for the user guide, a must if you are not familiar with Microsoft Excel, or if you just want to touch up on the basics of a spreadsheet.... http://simprit.com/gridmagic/userguide.html

If you need help with this application you can email Simprit's technical support team at support@simprit.com. They are quick to respond and are pleased to help with any questions you may have. The following information should be added in the email to help troubleshoot your problem:
    • The product name and its version number.
    • Your handheld model.
    • The steps to reproduce the problem.
    • Detailed error messages (if any).
    • The approaches you have tried to troubleshoot your problem.

Great review. One of the downfalls of blackberry is its document view/editing features. (for me anyway).

I had never heard of this app. Thx Chris!

Nice review, and nice product. For me and my company, not having the ability to open attached spreadsheets and email them back is a huge downfall. hopefully it can be integrated in future releases.

It looks as though the folks at simprit have heard you. Emailing of sheets available in two new option packages, gold and silver, on the Gridmagic site. Very nice app!

Question to those that are using GridMagic Professional.
Where do I find information for creating a link between worksheets and workbooks?
I tried formulas used on desktop, but they don't work. I have emailed, simprit.com, but they had no information other that what is on the web site.

I got a short email from them, stating that external data was not supported. I could only link worksheets within the same workbook. I will keep looking for a way, I like the ease of GridMagic.

    Did you figure it out?
