Thanks for the positive comments everyone. Again, the biggest thing I see lacking from the service is built-in push email notifications of SMS messages. I would really love to see that, or at least have the app automatically check for them and retrieve them.

I've got other invites I could use to get another number, but I don't want to bother unless I can see if it's local first.

To add to Em, you can also change your GV number. it costs $10, but it can be done.

The official BB app still needs some polishing.

underworld123 posted a great link everyone should read in reference to enabling SIP & GV.

    Link

    Why Do you need this?
If you have used Google Voice, you would have noticed that you can make calls only from the web interface or through some third party app. You cannot use Google Voice to make calls using your SIP device. This tutorial will allow you to make and receive calls from your Google Voice account using a SIP device.

Thanks for the update Steve. I think this service has some great potential and this is just another way to enjoy it.

It doesn't provide full VOIP support, yet, but I wouldn't put it past Google to be in the works. The service basically works by you calling Google and Google calling the person you want to talk to and vice-versa.

Yeah thanks I'm slowly realizing that lol.

And if you use the Google Voice BB App, when making calls from within that you don't have to call GV it does it for you so convenient. Same applies to make calls from your Address Book/Contacts.

Yes, the Call Using Google Voice feature is nice. I really want to see a more user friendly UI in the next version of the BB app. The current one is so basic it hurts.

Great, easy to read review, OP. I have had my number for a month and just never really started using it. I played with it a couple times; now, I will take a review and start using this perhaps. The TMO Faves number would work too and allow me to reduce my minutes and maybe my SMS plan. I supposed others could use this too like Verizon Friends and Family/Alltel MyCircle, etc...set up the Google number as a favorite.

I like the idea of my mult lines to be consolidated in one or the fact that you will always be able to change your personal/work numbers and your contacts would always follow you via the Google number.

Has anyone been experiencing this type of thing while using GV?

I have not talked on the phone this long yet I guess? Haha sort of funny now that I think about it.

I haven't but I rarely talk on the phone for that long either so probably haven't had a chance for it to happen to me. The article you posted in "link" says that it's been fixed according to Google.
