    REVIEW: Dynoplex EOffice Professional Edition

We got our hands on the coveted eOffice thanks to our friends at Dynoplex. Used by Blackberry professionals to create, edit and share Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word files! In addition this software allows Microsoft Outlook-like email control via Dynoplex's eWorks component. Now on to the review:

    Verdict:
A MUST have for any professional/business Blackberry owner who relies on their device for busines matters.
    URL: www.dynoplex.com
Price: $119.95 Basic Edition, $149.95 Standard Edition, $199.95 Professional Edition
Version tested: Professional Edition $199.95 (Registered copy)
Overall Rating: 4.5 out of 5

    EOffice Suites

There are 3 different types of the EOffice Suites that are avaliable for download: Basic, Standard and Professional. Depending on your needs would be what would make you decide which of these suites would suit your needs best.

I had the opprotunity to review the EOffice Professional Suite, which comes equipped with EWorks, EWord, ECell, ESpell and EFile.

The best way to describe this program to the average person is simple: Its Microsoft works...but in the palm of your hand.

The types of file formats that are usable with the program are: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Adobe PDF, Microsoft Power Point, Text Files, BMP/JPEG/GIF/PNG Images. As you may be aware, some office use Open Office on their systems, and these files are also recognized and workable on this program.

    EWorks:

What is EWorks? The best way to describe this program is that it is Microsoft Outlook on your Blackberry.

You are able to edit attachments that are sent, compose and edit emails, view your calendar, tasks, calls, contacts-All one one screen. One draw back is that it seems a little crowded having so much on one screen, however as with everything, the more you play with it, the more you will get used to it. It does make it convienient though when at the start of your day you need to glance over emails and your tasks and calendar, without having to exit out of one and opening another...Its all right there together for you!

Pros: All of your important information all together in one place. The feel of Office right on your Blackberry
Cons: All that info seems a little crapmed, even on an 8700 screen. Limited support/tutorial.

    EWord:

What's EWord? Well it's a word processor on your Blackberry!

Eword gives you access to MS Word and Open Office documents on your device. You have the ability to create new documents and edit existing documents that may either be sent to you through email, or you may load onto a remote server and access from your handheld. Everything from the ability to change font sizes, colors, types to email or fax the document directly from your handheld. Unfortunately for the fax option to work, you are going to have to be on BES.

This program is especially good for those professionals on the road who need to edit or create documents/flyers/reports while on an airplane, waiting for a meeting, on the train, etc.

It is also extremely easy to sync with Desktop Manager and transfer files back and forth.

Pros: Excellent program for the working professional. If you know how to use MS Works, you will already know for the most part how to use EWorks.
Cons: Can only fax if you are on BES; Limited Help/Support Features; Takes emailed documents longer than normal to arrive at destination.

    ECELL:

Create and edit spreadsheets in the palm of your hand!

ECell brings the ability to not only create, but view and edit existing spreadsheets.

And don't let it fool you. Just because this is on a Blackberry does NOT mean that you are going to be limited on the amount of information you can input. Spreadsheets can be created with up to an AMAZING 65,536 rows and 256 columns!!!

Formulas already loaded, Full Color Graphs; What more could you ask for? There are even pre-loaded sample spreadsheets just in case you have not yet learned how to do a spreadsheet, for you to play with and teach yourself.

Within the first day of receiving this program, I informed the cashiers that they were now to email the spreadsheets for the cash intakes every night before they left. This also came in handy last week when a cashier had her drawer off by $300! She was able to email me the cash intake and the list of all money received that day. Rather than have to tell her to just "Wait until I get in there in the morning and I will sort it out", we had it figured out in less than 5 minutes because I was able to view the spreadsheet and money intake, edit the balance that had her off, and email it back to her. And this was just in the first week! I can see this program getting great use from myself to keep on top of the accounting at the office!

Pros: Just like EWord, this program is a MUST for the business professionals who utilize spreadsheets in their office enviorment and need the ability to edit and create spreadsheets; Send via email effortlessly.
Cons: Again, no fax option unless you are on BES;Limited Help/Support; Takes emailed documents a little longer to get to their destination.

    ESpell:

Checks your spelling not only in the EOffice programs, but also in your standard Blackberry Mail Box.

You can choose which language you'd like to have your ESpell check:
English US, English British, English Canadian, German, Italian, Spanish,French, English United Kingdom and Russian.

If that's not enough, and you like making up your own words (Such as I do with friends of mine that I email back and forth), you can also add your own words into the dictionary. Therefore if you come up with a word that you'd like to "coin as your own", just add it and you will never forget how you spelled it originally!

    Pros:
Multi-Language Spell Checking, Ability to add your own phrases and words into the dictionary.
    Cons: None

EFile with WDH (Wireless Document Hosting)

EFile allows the organization of your files on your Blackberry as if you were looking at them through the menu option of your home or office based computer.

The Wireless Hosting provides access to your documents on remote servers. When I installed this program, I went ahead and put all the documents that I may need at one point or another on the remote server so that I could access them whenever I either needed to or felt like doing it just for the fun of it. Being that my computer is not always turned on and I am not on BES, I figured this the best way to ensure that I always had access to those documents and at the same time saved space on my device.

You can also sync and transfer the documents and files between your computer and device via Desktop Manager and Intellisync.

You also have the ability to add applications to the menu and customize them they way that you would like to view them. Really nice!

Pros: Simplifies organizing documents; Saves precious memory space; Easy and effortless transfers.
Cons: Screen is a little small in size, but hey, our eyes are used to it already right?

All of these programs also come with a simplified Users Manual that is in PDF form that you can download onto your computer. They also offer "sample documents" in EWord and ECell that give quick demostrations and tutorials. You may want to go ahead and print up the Users Manuals and keep them with you until you get the hang of all of the programs, because even if you are a seasoned professional with the Microsoft Office Suite, the shortcuts are easier to learn by actually reading the manuals rather than trying to figure it out on your own, which is what I typically try and do.

Bottom line: You can compare the 3 editions and decide which one will suit your needs best. The price may seem a little steep and possibly make you shy away wondering if this program is worth the asking price, but like I said, if you are a mobile Blackberry Professional, you NEED this program.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~i personally have this program, the pro edition, and it is great. There are some issues I noticed with the new BIS 2.0, such as synchronizing with eworks and getting all your emails

Re: REVIEW: Dynoplex EOffice Professional Edition

    Hey Diaz,
I did notice that too, however for me it only lasted for less than a day, and it was right after I had upgraded to the 8707 OS. For about 13 hours, every time I went to use any of the programs it was asking for either the registration code or verify the registration. I kept clicking "Verify" (Did it about 20 times) and I kept getting the email back saying it was verified, but the next time I would go to use it I would get the same thing. It eventually stopped all of a sudden. So I am assuming it was a mixture of upgrading the Operating System and a possible lag in their records and my BB synching...However I have it all up and running now...Think it may have been a bug that worked itself out.

Now eOffice Pro also includes eZcase app for secure data storage though the package price stays the same.

    New feature in eCell module:
Download your Google Spreadsheet to your BB and work with it wherever you are. Save your work either to PC, BB or back to Google.

eCell like all reviewed modules of eOffice Pro are also available as standalone programs.

Re: REVIEW: Dynoplex EOffice Professional Edition

I tried the standalone version of eCell on the 8700c and had the following problems. In the column I entered dates the dates would change all by themselves. I would try and enter 03/01/07 in two different rows same column and it would change to 03/02/07. Formulas would not always calculate correctly. I emailed tech support and they said that a fix was coming out in the next two weeks.

How about if you have more that one e-mail account on your BB, will the outlook still work or will it only work on one of them.
