CES 08': Yahoo! Go 3.0 Hands on.

    Application: Yahoo! Go 3.0 Beta
    Device:
    Curve 8320
    Network:
    GPRS
    Pros:
Feature full, easy to navigate, useful for heavy Yahoo users.
Cons: Almost 1MB download, Navigation easy but very slow, keep in mind it's heavy on data if you don't have an unlimited plan.
Overall 3 out of 5: If you have patience and you are a heavy Yahoo! user (Yahoo! email, flickr, Yahoo! Finance etc) this App will be good for you.
Note: On EDGE, WIFI and EVDO the speed may improve for some features. However, the navigation for non data areas also seemed slow. This app is a bit resource heavy for the 8320. Then again compared to other smart phone OS's it's pretty good. We BB users have high expectations.

Here are some screen shots of the new Yahoo! Go 3.0:

    Hope this helped...

Did you read the ultra-creepy small print & consider the implications if none other than the CONSTANT wireless traffic your phone will now receive whether you are logged in or not? I'm only considering that moblo ultra-wipe thing just to get every last byte off my pearl. I'm still getting chills. JUST SAY NO!

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ I like the program in general seems a little slow to respond sometimes compared to 2.0 hopefully they will work on that not to worried about the fine print don't have to much sensitive info coming threw my bb and have unlimited data

"This app is a bit resource heavy for the 8320."

Would you please explain this a bit further?

    Thanks,

    Thanks,
I would assume resource heavy for an 8320 would be that it uses a lot of memory. The 8320 doesn't offer a lot of internal memory after all preloaded applications. I know that I had to delete about 4 applications off my 8320 and I now only have 15mbs of free memory. So for the yahoo go 3.0 to use almost 1mb of memoery is quite a bit. However, I do love the yahoo go appliation. It is awesome and works great. Hayden your blackberry message count looks a little like mine with emails sms bb messages aol I'm and y messenger. I can't live without this thing.

Yes I too read the fine print. I always do as boring as that may sound, it's important to know what one is getting into by agreeing to the terms of these increasingly predatory companies.

It's unfortunate that they must take such a menacing position.

Yahoo can keep their data mining, identity stealing apps. I have no use for it.

Too bad mines work get past the "internet connection not found" prompt. Yes I have full access to the internet, yes I am BES and I have full function of my phone, yes I have other applications that use the internet that work as well.
    BB8900 is mine!
