Boxwave Slim Rubberized Shell Case - quick review

I recently purchased the Slim Rubberized Shell Case from Boxwave ($27.95 + S/H) and thought I'd share some pics. I'm using it along with a BSE screen protector. It fits very snuggly and has a great kind of soft, yet hard, feel to it. I especially love how the the trim is beveled around the keys, leaving no obstruction at all. My one gripe is that the back side is raised slightly in the middle for the belt clip attachment that is included, but not pictured. I prefer to carry my BB in my front pocket and would've liked a flat back surface. Still, I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a hard case to protect their Curve.

That's a pretty cool shell...the one I have covers the entire keyboard (its clear) and it has pre-cut holes for every thing (USB, jack, speaker..etc)...I also have a screen protector on it to avoid scratches!! lets say my phones is well protected....I love it!! but I like the thickness of this shell...more padding

    Nice review!!

thanks for the review.. the case from the side and top profiles make it look a bit bulky though. i usually keep the device either in my pocket of coat pocket. I wouldn't want it to be too thick.

Is there anything out there w/ around the same size at the oem skin but a rubber case? =D

I actually prefer the added thickness. I keep my BB on vibrate during the day and I can actually feel it vibrate now when it's in my pocket.

That's where the attachment for the belt clip goes. Here's a link to the image off Boxwave's site.

    How is the feel?

I also keep it in my front pocket and did not like the "rubbery" one I had as it was hard to slide in and out and would kinda stick. (wow... that was a bad description and it prob sounds like my pants are way too tight, but hopefully you get the idea)

It's made of hard plastic with a kind of soft rubber coating. I have no problems slipping it in and out of my pockets. Lint doesn't stick to it either, but I do get some dust here and there.

Re: Boxwave Slim Rubberized Shell Case - quick review

Hey there, I was wondering, as I recently purchased a rubberized case for mine and my husbands BB as well, it appears that the case does not fully close around the top of the phone. Am I seeing that correctly? Ours doesn't either and I was ready to send them back. I was just wondering before I go through the hassle of shipping them. It doesn't appear to take away from the phone or take away from the cover, but it would be nice to know if this is just how the covers are. Thanks.

robertmrome: The cases are hard, not the silicone ones and they slide easily enough in and out of a pocket. Did you have the silicone kind? I did for about 5 minutes and walked it back into the store. These rubbery hard cases are really nice. It is easy to hold in your hand and you don't feel like it will slip out.

I also have this type of case! It doesn't add any bulk to the phone at all. I think you would be suprised. By the way, you can get these cases on eBay for around $6.00. I looked in the mall and they were anywhere from $15-$25 and they are exactly the same.

the top of the case doesn't have any snaps. i think there were only four snaps, two on either side. but by no means are the two halves loose. it feels quite secure. or were you referring to the opening opposite the mute button? i believe that's there to let the speaker leak out.

Hey j0hn00, Thanks for getting back to me. I was actually referring to the snaps. All is well! I love my case and I would definitely recommend it to everyone. At least we will all be different! Not just platinum or red!
