doesnt work that easy. Depending on where you got the locked bb from. AT&T will ask for the original number the bb was registered on and if they dont see logs on that number with that bb then it will be a bit tougher to get that unlock code for free. Other then that you will have to use the other services to get an unlock code. Everytime I got my phones unlocked they always asked for the original phone number the phone was registered on. and if it was on a contract with AT&T or not. If it was not a contract and bought the phone straight out. then you would need the original sales reciept faxed into them. just for 20bucks just go use the other website listed to get one.

For me ATT just checked to see if I had an account in good standing for like 90 days or something.

Ok..where did you get your unlock code and what have you tried so far? Please also confirm that you realize that the unlock code is specific to the device, in other words you cannot use "just any" unlock code.

me personally, I call AT&T, told them I would be travelling to Germany they told me about international roaming fees and other jibber-jabber I politely inquired about an unlock code CS Rep checked my account asked for my imei # and my email address, added some kind of international feature to my account for free and told me I would have the code emailed to me in 5-7 days it came in less than 24 hours. That's my experience hope it could be useful to somebody!

I got an unlock code from AT&T and it hasn't worked I'm on one try trying different methods AT&T and other forums explanations. I tried gsmphonesource got refunded for some reason. I went somewhere else they sent my IMEI in and waiting on them. Checking if I got the right unlock code or if its the BB not wanting to be unlocked.

If you got a refund from gsmphonesource it means there isn't one on file. He can contact RIM for around 50 usually or ATT can do it in about 3-5 days. If you called them and the code didn't work, call them back.

I didn't even tell ATT I was traveling, I just asked for the unlock code.
