    Warning about ebay blackberry seller

Guys be careful of ebay seller "ipowercorner"
He sells used blackberries stating they are new
I bought a 8820 from him recently and looked like a great dial at first
After some search I realized that the phone was preowned, everything was wiped and the full housing was changed to a new one. There is also the "orange" logo when you turn it on.
The four screws had damaged heads and the two top screws were totally missing
Even the manual booklet was wrong
Of course, if you are a first time blackberry user it is hard to discover the truth but if you know a few things about blackberries it gets much easier...

After I told him all these he disappeared obviously knowing he was guilty
I asked for a full refund or a partial refund in order to keep it but never got an answer
I will open a paypal dispute today

Stay away from him - SCAM

Thanks for the information! I've always tended to stay away from Ebay, or CraigsList when it comes to purchasing mobile devices. My past experience has been anything but pleasant, but thankfully I've never attempted to purchase anything more than a chirper for my Nextel lines. Though, I did once get lucky and found a brand-new 7100i which I purchased for my dad..

    Sprint: BB 8330, 8830, 8130, 8703, 7250

But there's a beautiful view of the end of the world from the pier.....

I personally would never buy devices from others, espetially blackberries. A lot of stuff like that happenes, just looks like a waste of money.

Unfortunately paypal will do you no good. They do not cover not as described disputes. They ask you to deal with it with the seller. Wish you luck though.

^^ I had to open a not as described eBay item with Paypal and I was refunded my money. They ask you to deal with the seller first, but if you can't, then you can escalate it to have Paypal step in. Worked for me. so give it a try.

^^ Yea, I have as well. And, luckily it didn't take long (couple days, tops) to get my refund.

    ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ those b@$tards!

Hate ignorant ppl. Give the seller horrible feedback. I always look for bidders/buyers with 100% positive feedback.

yeah, you gotta check their feedback - anything less than like 90% - i don't bother with them - also, i like to see a lot of sales under their belts, and see how long they've been a registered user. all these little details make a huge deal when it comes to buying things on ebay.

I am very sorry to hear of your misfortune. Thank you for posting your experience here, so as to help others avoid this loss. I have had a couple of similar experiences like this in the past and no longer use eBay. It's simply not worth the time, trouble, expense, and frustration.

I would even put in a complaint with ebay, for false advertising

    .
I agree. However in my experience the days of reliable commerce on ebay are over. I have noticed a distinct lack of concern for the user on ebays part. The sense of urgency & intervention that was once a hallmark of ebay appears to be over. I now use craigslist.
