    Non-op Pearl 8100 parting out.

Wife's Pearl took a high dive into the tub she grabbed it right away and I ripped the battery out and took it apart and dried it for 2 days and put it back together, but no luck... the screen used to be really bright when I was messing with it and now it went dull. When the screen was bright and I was punching buttons to see if it was functional I noticed #3 didnt work and the enter button under the pearl would enter a "q" instead of selecting an option.

So if anyone is interested in Pearl parts PIN me. I'm selling the whole thing for $60, if you want just one piece just respond its only a paperweight to me now.

    I have the following pieces

1 - Chassis $15 (Front and back w/ screen faceplate and 4 screws)

1 - Screen $5 (not sure if completely functional)

1 - Motherboard $5 (not sure if completely functional)

    1 - Antenna Cover $5

    1 - Yellow Battery $15

1 - pair of side rails w/ buttons $5 (one has a chip towards the top)

    1 - Battery Door $5

    1 - Keypad - $5

    1 - Trackball Assembly $10

OR $60 for the whole thing (Assembled) *THIS BUYER WILL BE GIVEN PRIORITY OVER EVERY OTHER OFFER*

Buyer pays shipping (Ground is only $10 max)

ALL PARTS ARE FROM A USED BLACKBERRY PEARL AND DO SHOW SIGNS OF WEAR (EX. SCRATCHES, DIRTY TRACKBALL, ETC) PIN ME FOR CLOSER PICS OR FOR CLARIFICATION ON ANYTHING.

Re: Non-op Pearl 8100 parting out.

How many days has it been since it was dropped?

My first pearl I did the same, dropped it in the toilet and watched it like an idiot while it sat there for a good six to seven seconds before I reacted and got it out.

Dried it, and turned it on a few days later. The trackball click, and the first row would only render QQQQQQ etc.

I happened to have a second pearl (shipping mistake, i got a free pearl, shh ;P), so I used that one, and left the water drowned pearl on a shelf, with the battery disconnected.

I was planning on parting it out, but when I put it back together approximately a week later, I found that it was working perfectly again, except for the fact that the vibrate function didn't work at all.

I sold it to my brother for 100 (haha), whom liked it and figured he could live without it vibrating. Almost a week after that, about three weeks total since being dropped, the phone started vibrating again out of nowhere! It has worked perfectly for him ever since, with not a single problem.

So yeah, don't give up on it! Mine, although put under for quite a good time, did recover eventually, it just needed some time therapy and rehab ;P.
