Google's VP of engineering, Vic Gundotra, demonstrated on Wednesday a mobile version of Gmail designed for both the iPhone and Google Android phones. The Web-based application lets users access their email offline and also brings support for Gmail's labels feature. What is really unique about this application is that it is browser based and requires no mobile software application downloads. Gundotra showed the audience at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain a "technical concept" application of Gmail, which stores on the device it is used on not only a user's data, but also the software itself. The most notable use of this technology is allowing offline access to e-mails in Gmail. Message from Google Mobile: If you own a BlackBerry Storm on Verizon Wireless, we encourage you to download a brand new version of Google Maps for mobile that utilizes the Storm's internal GPS. The Storm is the first Verizon BlackBerry that makes it possible for My Location to access GPS location. After you install the new version on your Storm, you will notice improved accuracy for My Location and Latitude. So if you have a Verizon BlackBerry Storm, just go to m.google.com/maps from your BlackBerry's browser to download the latest version of Google Maps to your device - and start getting hyper-accurate!(Note: If you have an older BlackBerry on Verizon, even one with GPS like the BlackBerry 8130, this announcement unfortunately does not apply to you. The Storm is currently the only BlackBerry Verizon phone that makes GPS available to Google Maps. We hope you enjoy using My Location through network positioning or Wi-Fi, when available.) | Excellent reviews again
Cherri always has a lot of stuff in her reviews, she must spend all day, or maybe 2 days or more doing nothing but finding stuff to review. What is PSCast? If it's some kind of video stuff, then please don't send me any, cos it would take an AGE and a half to dl it, cos i only have el cheepo dialup |

Dialup? Wow, I haven't heard that term in years! That's like someone showing me a floppy disk! LOL PSCast is basically a podcast reviewing the Pinstack site, and different devices, what's going on in the world of communication, etc. It's not a video, but they are about 50 MB apiece, so if you're on dial up, set it to download before you go to bed, it's worth it! |
