    Slight Curve water damage

    Hey Guys,
So my 13-month old used my 8330 Curve as a chewtoy and drooled all over it. Now I can barely hear the callers. Everything else works: screen, I hear the ringers and notifications, and the other person can hear me. What can I do? I already took the battery out and stuck the phone in a bowl of rice. But whenever I check, nothing happens. It only happened a few hours ago, so I have not been very patient.

I have the Asurion insurance. Will it cover this?

    Thanks!

The rice trick is definitely something that you need to do overnight. More than likely the insurance should cover it for water damage. I would try the rice thing again overnight and see what happens.

Yep, the rice trick its awesome. My brother drop his 8100 in the pool, and 2 days later on the rice, the phone was working like new!

I'm afraid moisture may not be the only problem.Spit doesn't dry without leaving a coating. If it soaked a screen covering the speaker,or got into the speaker.Well it may need a tech to clean it out, even if it's not damaged.

you can try to blow it out with a shot of air but you might risk damage with the receiver.

Wipe it down with an electronic wipe after it dries out also. That will remove the drool
That's just the exterior. Be careful if you are near the internal parts.

Hey guys, so I did the rice trick, didn't even do it overnight, just a few hours, and the phone is like new. Thank God! Thanks everyone for your advice.

It absorbs all the moisture, just like those little silica gel packs you find stuff in new things you buy.
