Question Question about Tour Messages Alert

I just got the new Tour and love it. The only thing I cant figure out is I have a folder for messages and a folder each for my 3 other emails. When I get a email from AOL it goes into the messages folder which alerts me but does not alert me from the AOL folder as well. On my Curve there would be a a message alert on the message box as well as the AOL or Yahoo folder. Im sure this is a simple setting chg. Does anybody know how to chg this??

    Eryca,

You might want to try resending service books or deleting and re-adding the e-mail account and see if that doesn't fix the issue.

I have six e-mail addresses that come to my device and prefer the individual folders for each, hiding the main Messages folder.

Please post back if you have any more questions.

    Cheers,
    Roger

So the message goes into both boxes but you are only alerted to the "Messages" folder? If so, go into "Profiles", scroll down to "Advanced", and then edit the "Active Profile", find your AOL email and change the alert to your choosing.

I think she's talking about the little star you get on the icon when there's a new message there.

    Is that the case, Eryca?

Okay, try resending service books or deleting/re-adding the account.

Did you set up your e-mail accounts on the device or through the Internet from a BlackBerry Internet Service account? I am not familiar with the device setup wizard, but from the BIS account there is an option to resend service books.

Okay, then if you go back into the setup wizard, see if you have an option to resend service books. On your device, go to Options>Advanced Options>Service Book. You'll find two entries for your AOL account (CICAL and CMIME). Highlight those, press the BB menu button, then select Delete. If you find the "Resend" option in the setup wizard, go ahead and select that. You should get notifications in all your e-mail accounts. If you don't find that resend option, delete the account and re-add it.

You can also use the setup internet email icon and click on Service Books, then Send Service Books.

I think that's what she ended up doing, Erica.
