    With CDMA phones, say sprint, verizon (pretty much anything without a sim) you can flash over to other cdma carriers...kind of like unlocking essentially....

    God forbid theres people around here with storms on metroPCS which is prepaid that only has like a 50 mile radius...

    its essentially putting carrier x's software on carrier y's phone and/or provisioning it.....

    It's actually a pretty big side-business for a lot of people. There are numerous posts out there with people offering to flash just about any phone over to another carrier.

    That's what had me wondering - - lots of shops in my hometown here have put up signs like "Phones Flashed!!! $30.00". Thanks Steve for the response . . .
