    Hands On With Nokia’s N900

MID's (Mobile Internet Devices) seem to be gaining attention. Hayden posted an article earlier and the Nokia N900 is another one. If your a Linux person you should see this video.

    A LITTLE BACKGROUND

Think of the about-to-be-released N900 as atonement for past sins committed by Nokia. The disaster that is Symbian, the anemic-ness of the Ovi store, the conspicuous lack of CDMA devices all seem, well, not so horrible after playing with this Linux based, open source, unlocked internet tablet. Nokia recently gave us a not-so-finished version of the N900 to play with. Here’s what we think after tinkering with it for a week. Bonus: We’ve got video too!

I do believe that's because it's being sold unlocked. Which is really not bad if compared to the iPhone 3GS or Storm 2 unlocked price on "first launch". Think it comes in cheaper actually.

Nokia N900 now available in the US. It’s available at either of Nokia’s flagship stores (New York and Chicago), or NokiaUSA.com
    It’s listed for $650.

Well so much for this phone I wanted it but since it does not support at&t's 3G bands 600 bucks for a 2G phone is crazy

I thought I read something about it not being able to support the new Maemo browser update that is coming soon. So your stuck with Maemo 5.. Is that correct?

I'm not sure I'll check I highly doubt it though they'll get it to support it, I just wish it supported by att's 3G

Lots of short comings once you use it heavily. The fact that it works only on lanscape mode is a no no... Also like any other Nokia, 3 months down the line it devalues terribly! Anybody for a N96 or N97 for under 200 EuroS ? And still in the box.
