    EVDO stands for Evolution-Data-Optimized or Evolution Data Only. Basically, its the CDMA version of Edge. EVDO runs on different Revisions and depending on your device and carrier, it can reach speeds upto 4.9mbit/s. Thats how you can watch stream videos and watch real-time tv shows on Verizon/Sprint in the US or Telus/Bell in canada. I dont know if you guys remember Amp'd Mobile? Before they were offering pay-per-view through their evdo network.

    i didnt read all the replies but im running EDGE. and i use Nav4All, and it wants me to enable GPRS to get GPS coordinates, how do i set that up on a 8100?

    Hi. I'm new here and reading thru to learn about my BB. This info is very interesting but I haven't seen 1xev listed which is what I have displayed. Am I looking at something different? Just curious. Ty.

    Nope, that's the equivalent indication for CDMA phones. It's known as EVDO. I don't know what the different states for it are but I'll look to see if there is a thread on it.
