Does anyone have or has anyone played with an Android based tablet? I am looking at getting an e-book reader such as the nook... which leads to also looking at tablets such as the Ipad and Samsung galaxy tablet. However, both of those will be a lot more then I am willing to pay. In the 150-300 range there are many alternatives. Just wandering if anyone has personal experience any and what do they think. So far I am leaning to the Nook which runs on Android and is root-able.

Didn't realize the nook runs Android. That sounds like a good choice to me. If you're going to get an iPad, wait until about February. They're supposed to be announcing a new smaller size (according to the rumor mill) and maybe a front camera for Facetime.

Take a look at this google doc spreadsheet put together by reddit...

There are some nice ones coming soon, but I don't think too many out at the moment. I would personally forego the Nook and wait for something like the Archos. I'm planning on getting an Android tablet myself as soon as there are a few out... I'd like a 10", though, and I think those will come a little later.

I've used a friend's Ipad ebook app, and it is quite awesome.

    Hey pm,
You mentioned a while back that you thought there may be a way to get google voice on a Cell South android device without having to pay for the no answer transfer... did you find out anything about this?
    Thanks!

I got an email from Cellular South this morning saying that starting in November there will be a free voice mail upgrade including password skip, auto play and extended absence greeting. maybe google voice will work without the no answer transfer after they update???

I got that same email... sounds like they made some improvements after getting feedback from customers. I remember doing the survey about what I would want with voicemail.
I won't go back to CS vm, though... Google Voice is just SO much better for me.

I'm putting money on it being the Droid X.

I mean if you look close, you see it's flat like the Droid, but it could also be the Incredible, or the Evo or something else that is squared at the bottom

But we already have the incredible aka the desire same phone different housing. I going to bet the Htc Wildfire since we are schulded to get it to replace the hero.

Well difference is the incredible has 8gb memory built-in and a 8 mega pixels camera which puts it more like the evo so I would love to get the incredible. But what's the wildfire
