Well, thinking about returning my hero for the tour. Just have to make up my mind soon!

I really, really love the hero. The interface is great, the apps are top notch, and the speed is decent. I am missing the keyboard from the berry, but the keyboard on the hero is the best on a touchscreen I have used.

My main problem, and it is a big one, is the battery life. I am running an app killer, try to keep my apps from updating that often, and get my email every 15 minutes or so. I do make alot of calls on it (company related), and surf the web occasionally.
I take it off of charge at 5:30 a.m. and by 9:30 or 10 a.m. I generally have to recharge. Then again at around 3 p.m. Then charge for the night. This is very inconvenient for me.

My other problem is just a nit pick. I have noticed that if I am using a chat service (windows, yahoo, ect) that if I am typing a message and somone sends a message at the same time, the phone notifies me. This normally wouldnt be a problem, but the phone beeps and vibrates and causes a ever so slight lag in what I am typing and what is going on the screen. I find that I will be several letters ahead before I realize it and have to go back. Not huge, but irritating.

PdaNet uses a service app on your phone and a receiver
on your PC to make the connection. Simply navigate to the June Fabrics website and find “PdaNet for Android”. Download the client from the site to get started. The client works with XP and Vista, both 32 and 64-bit versions. Installing the Windows application prompts you with directions to connect your Android phone to the computer via USB. The app is installed to your phone as part of the Windows application installation process. To use PdaNet follow these steps:

    1. Start the service on your phone.
    2. Connect your Android to the PC via USB (Making sure to have USB-Debugging ON).
    3. Right-Click the system tray icon and select “Connect”.
    4. The connection is made and ready for use.

Once done, simply choose “Disconnect” from the system tray icon in your PC and turn off the service on. You need to download this version pm Download version 2.02 (or 64 bit build).

I seen the tour and it looks tempting. The only gripe I have against the hero is battery life. I found a extended battery 1750mah for $49.95. That would help a lot. Anyone know about the battery life on the tour?

My battery life is pretty good for as much as I use my Tour, I can typically get a full day out of it. I don't make a lot of phone calls, but I do a lot of texting/bbm'ing... Just bout me a seidio 1600mAh battery, got it in now and I'll let you know how it does.

My hero just lasted me all day yesterday and last night for the first time. I talked several times yesterday and did some posting and normal amount of texting, how ever what I did different was took off the power manager set my emails to 1 hour and closed my messenger and only check in on it once in a while. I'm still running with a little over half a battery since yesterday morning when I took my Hero of charge.

Hey pm, can you tell me what it would cost if I swapped from the Hero to the tour?

I paid 146.57 for the Hero online. That was 149.99 minus the $50 discount plus a $36 early renewal fee plus tax.

Would I owe around $50 for the tour? Or how would that work?

I'm not pm and not speaking for him, but I'd suspect that you will owe $50 for it. And you have 30 days or 1000 minutes whichever comes first as a limit for exchange phones... oh and you only get 1 exchange, so if you switch, your stuck

The hero is not for everyone. But for simplicity and durability you cannot beat a blackberry.

Well, I changed to the tour.

Again, loved the hero, it was a very capable phone, but with the battery life, and now that I notice it, the reception difference, I had to swap. Just got started playing with the tour, I am sure I will be very satisfied

What do you mean reception difference? Has anybody else had this problem?
