Where to add a seperate photo folder via SSH?
I'm using images from my camera roll via Boss Papers. Instead of having all of these wallpapers saved in my camera roll, I would like to either move them to a new folder that I create, or move them to the phone's default Wallpaper section. For some reason when I SSH and create a new folder or copy these images to the wallpaper section, they do not show up when I look for them on my phone. Can someone help a brother out?
cjeezy - I have an extra folder in my "Photos" app strictly for wallpapers, I've never SSH'd them into my iPhone, this is what I did.
What I did was simply make a folder (name it whatever you want), place my Wallpapers or whatever pics/photos I wanted in that folder, placed that folder in My Documents/My Pictures (on my PC). Then connected my iPhone, under devices, I clicked on my iPhone, open the Photos tab, make sure "Sync photos from" is checked, use the drop down menu to choose the location of the folder I want synced, which would be the folder you made under My Documents/My Pictures. Navigate to that folder and click "Sync"
Now, everytime you sync your iPhone, any picture you've added to that folder will be automatically updated and will show up on your iPhone. Not sure if this is what you want, but this is a way to make seperate albums under your Photos app.
Well you just answerd my new question. Thanks, Chris.
Ok I'll try that later today. Thanks!
This worked but with one issue, I can't find the new folders when searching in Boss Paper. It shows camera roll, wallpaper, and "other." They aren't listed under "other" though. Dunno why

Hmm, well honestly, I've never used BossPaper...don't really know what it does either. Mind explaining it's purpose a bit? Maybe I can figure it out

It's a REALLY cool app. It lets you use pictures that are saved on the phone and shows them as a slide show in your background. You can change the duration of the slides and make them dissolve, or appear, etc (kinda like MS Powerpoint).
Oh snap! I might have to check that out...thanks!
Maybe you can just SSH images into your camera roll?
You can place the pics in: var/mobile/media/DCIM/100APPLE
Those will be in your camera roll, or you can always just email/mms them to yourself and choose the save image option
I'll try that path. I wanted to keep my Boss Wallpapers out of my camera roll. Im a neat freak! Let me know what you think of that app
Oh, I feel you on the neat freak stuff, I'm the same way
I'm downloading it now
Okay, I figured it out!
First, SSH into your iPhone and navigate to: var/mobile/library
- Make a folder in there and name it to whatever you want (ex. BossPaper Pics)
- In there, put all the pictures you want to use with BossPaper
Then, launch BossPaper
- Tap on "Folders" under Image/Folder Selection
- Tap on "Add" up on the top right
- Tap on "Browse Folders"
- Tap on "Library"
- Tap on the "Add" button next to the folder you made (BossPaper Pics)
Cool I'll try that! Thanks for figuring it out!
