Can't see the screen since I am mobile, but is it in DFU mode?

Its connected to the laptop, and iTunes says its in "recovery mode", the screen I'm stuck at is a photo of a cord saying to connect to iTunes. I have tried everything I know, which is using redsnow to get in DFU mode and tried recover fix, and nothing.
    Thanks

Yeah thats DFU mode. Find and download an app called Tiny Umbrella. It has an option to kick you out of recovery.
