How does revenue sharing work?
Looking to develop an iPhone app. While I understand at the very basic level, Apple takes 30% of revenues monthly, I don't understand how it works with other scenarios:
1. InApp purchases - if applications are purchased within an application, does Apple take 30% of those revenues as well?
2. Other business models - subscription, purchase from back-end store. How does one support this? Or you just can't?
3. Marketing - how does an application publisher do promos? discount codes etc? There seems to be one fixed price at one point in time.
4. Any details on iAds in terms of revenue model?
I'm puzzled that Kindle allows for this. You can buy a book from Amazon via the Kindle for iPhone app, does Apple charge 30% of that and does Amazon agree to it?
Would be great if someone can shed light on this.
