Just like when I was a kid and we used to go through the phonebook looking for someone to prank call...

I haven't done anything like that in years but some people haven't grown up.

If you don't want prank calls, don't list your number. Same applies for your pin.

Again, why I'm cautious with PIN. Cobras right, let it out for all to see and you're going to get that stuff.
Its sad, but how it is. Ignoring is always an option, but at that point you're almost being held hostage (so to speak) by people who abuse bbm.

I'm about to start using bbm. I've been very cautious and will continue to be. However should I wake up with a message that's beyond what's acceptable I'll have to point the finger @ myself first.

Hopefully by spending time here getting to know (by reading their posts/pm) I won't run into that problem.
Does any of that make sense?

Heywood I sent you a Private Message regarding this earlier. If you can PM me or any other member of the Mod team as much information as possible about the messages you received and from whom we will look into this situation.

Help me understand this, if I use my firewall to block pin messages can I still get bbm? Or they will be blocked too?

I am going to assume the bbm app will still work . the fire wall will just block incoming pin messages and not any apps the device may be running.
you can set up a white list or use your address book to allow incoming pins while the fire wall blocks the pins coming in

also thanks to the mods for looking in to this , this was my intention in the first place , not to give venue to a group of over the hill adolescents. and their not reading the posts or knowing about the subject prior to making a fool of them selves .
and it is not against the rules to post a pin , there have been threads started by mods asking to list them on this site.
PEOPLE READ AND THINK BEFORE POSTING REMARKS , YOUR IGNORANCE DOES NOT ADD TO THE FORUM IT TAKES AWAY FROM READERS ABILITY TO GET THE FACTS....

I will ignore personal attacks. Even thou I could say alot. But I'm a bigger person than that.
So, no one said it's against the rules!
You should of handled this with the mods by PM anyway. Like reading GaryF's PM that he sent you earlier.
Yes they have ASKED in other topics here. I'm puzzled by how they might of MADE you post your pin?

Now you might try apologizing to the "over the hill adolescents here".
With age comes wisdom, I hope that you get older sooner.

Uhm time out: heywood you posted on a public forum. Thought giving opinions was the whole point of a forum. Not attacking you, but that just doesn't make any sense. What exactly did you expect, only people who would agree with your point of view to post?
I'm all for you stating you're view, but not for a double standard. If you didn't want any honest contradictory replies perhaps PMs with the mods would have been better

This topic is one of the reasons I decided to switch phones (along with sluggish software performance) to a phone where I don't have a PIN to post and give out anyway.
