Beginners guide to starting a new thread

Guide to starting a new thread

Post your topic in the correct forum
For example, if you just purchased a BlackBerry Pearl and have trouble with email DO NOT post in the “RIM Blackberry 8100” forum, but instead post in the BlackBerry Internet & Email forum.

The Blackberry 8300, Blackberry 8100 and other device forums should only be used when your question doesn't fall under other forums such as RIM handheld software, 3rd Party Software, Themes & Wallpaper, etc.
Use a Descriptive Thread (Topic) Title
Get noticed by providing a descriptive thread title. "Please help!" and "I have a problem" are poorly worded titles. Instead, describe your question or problem in the title, like "What is Cingular's APN setting?" or "How do I filter email to my Blackberry?" This makes it easier for people with the answers to find your post and provide an answer.

    Provide Details
When you have a question or need help, the more details your provide, the easier it will be for users to help you. The first place to start is to fill out your profile details with useful data such as Your Blackberry Operating System (OS), 3rd party software version, Blackberry device model, Network Carrier, etc. Also important, you should provide details within the thread necessary for someone else to reproduce or understand your problem.

You will find faster & more accurate response to questions when following this guide.

    Nice post Hayden!

I totally agree with the "fill out your profile details"! I can't count how many times a post would have been so much easier to answer if only those details were filled in!

It's important enough to say it one more time:

    Fill In Your Profile Details!

Not that the rest of the post isn't important too!

Bump. We've noticing a lot of threads with title such as "Help!" I need help" "I have a problem" etc.

New members are advised to read the above guide, this will really help keep our search function results accurate.

    Thanks

Also Stackers it would help greatly if you could look over the PinStack Rules & Guidelines before posting
