Pin messaging uses the RIM data network, which requires a BB data plan to access. If you have a BB data plan, it will be accounted for in Kbytes. If your BB data plan is limited and you go over your limit you will be charged for additional data. If it is truly unlimited Pins are included without charge. If you don't have a BB data plan No Pins.

Hi Leadwest. You do need a date plan to use pin messages. Without the data plan you can only sms and make and recieve calls.
