BB messenger in china

Hi ALL!
New to pinstack.
Would like to use BB Messenger in China.
Have UK Vodafone Storm with BB email/internet included.
Free in UK but charge £4.99MB for data abroad on monthly plan.
Since roaming is expensive I would like to keep in touch whilst in china with wife who has exact same phone and plan.
What I can't work out is how much would it cost me per message sent and received.

Will I be charged only when I click send or also when connected to GPRS?

Are there any hidden costs to be aware i.e from the local network?

By using BB Messenger is it sending pins or using email. On my contact it shows both pin and email addresses but I am not sure if it sends pins by default (if it matters at all).

Your help will be most appreciated.

As I know, PIN number can be changed. I'm wondering if someone change the PIN to be the same as our PIN then what's happen.
Just drop a note to let you know..

Question Carrier charges?

Do PIN messages count against one's carrier charges, and if so, how?

Question

irishboy Carriers do not charge you for sending pin messages because it's part of your data plan. PIN to PIN is sent directly from one BlackBerry to the other. Every BlackBerry Device has a unique PIN number. Hopes this answers your question.

PIN messages ARE in fact encrypted using Triple-DES.

Hey there everybody,

I'm a total noob in BB, so please forgive me if I'm offending ur intelligence with rather über-obvious questions.

If a PIN-message needs a data plan, what advantage do I have in using BBMessenger in comparison to getting any other phone with internet connection and installing an IM program in it?

Thx a lot
