    Re: Ready to go

you have to access the link through your blackberry... and then click the trackwheel when you hear it playing and then save it...BUT you can only get .mid files... NO MP3, WAV, etc....

    Re: Ready to go

Thanks for the quick reply. Is there a program out there that I can send it to my BB. Similiar to the one used for iDen (motorola) phones? I have some tones I want to add to mine. I tried sending them to my phone (e-mail) but that does not work. Any other way of doing it?

There is not a program like the jal's, unfortunately you must mms them, or upload them to the web. Use www.coolservice.dk/en/compatibilities.php, works well.

    cp,
Email them? Are you sure? I think you have to host them and download using the Internet Browser. I know you can email images, but I thought tones wouldn't play as an attachment.

    Hope this helps.

    Re: Ready to go

Dotson, I'm a cheepskate, and don't like giving any information to any website. So, here's what I did. I made my own ringtones, uploaded them to my yahoo briefcase, signed in to yahoo from my blackberry, went to the briefcase, played and saved the files. Every step of the process stayed in my control, and was free. If you want to share with others, you can email them the files and have them follow the same steps. Or, use a service like 'coolservice' mentioned earlier to host them. Either way, have fun!

    Re: Ready to go

i don't mind sharing. I just want a particular voice type midi that I created. Most of the ringtones are all music or something of that nature. I wanted to try some wav files i converted to a .mid to see if it would work. I have yet to find any .mid that are voice.

    Re: Ready to go

Just tried that site. It let me upload the file then told me to visit a web site and enter a certain code that is in a foreign language I can't read. So that doesn't do me any good. I am not a fan of the yahoo and all that chat stuff but i may decide to try that.

    Re: Ready to go

Never fear Dotson, you don't have to chat with anyone. Just go to yahoo.com and get a free email account. A 'briefcase' comes with it. Upload your midi file to the briefcase, then sign off from yahoo on your pc. Then sign in on your blackberry, navigate to your briefcase, click on the file you want. When the file loads, save it to your 7100. Easy as pie. If you need help just yell...

    Re: Ready to go

Berry-Bum, I tried the Yahoo Briefcase way and it says file sharing is only available for premium members. You mentioned free email account to the other guy so what gives! Let me know, I would really like to use Yahoo for this.

    Re: Ready to go

If you know of a wav to midi translator, I know a Text to voice site that will allow you to type in text and generate wav files. It has multiple voices, male and female for multiple languages. I have used this site to generate all my active ringtones, but my 8700 will use wav files.

    Just a thought.
