Question Please help - Can't enable Bluetooth (Turn on) Tour 9630

WOW! I read great things on this site!

    Here's my status/problem:
    - 9630 on Sprint worked on OS 4.71
    - Upgraded to 5.0 (1675).
    - Since the upgrade, Bluetooth simply refuses to turn on

Here's what I've done so far:
    - Endless battery pullouts (over a week now)
    - Endless attempts to connect to my headset
    - Reloaded OS 5.0 several times, with/without restoring backup
    - Downgrade back to 4.71 + restore backup
    - Wiped the phone + reloading OS (BBSAK), either 4.71 or 5.0, with or without restoring backup
    - Reloaded other bundles of either 4.7 or 5.0
    - Deleted net_rim_ bluetooth and reloaded (BBSAK)

For the time being I had to move service from this phone to a temp one, as I must have BT (headset).
The BB still gets a network signal (Sprint PCS) and shows either 1XEV or 1x.

Pleaeaeaeaease help. I love that phone!

    Welcome to PinStack!

Wow, well you tried pretty much everything I would've tried and still no joy, huh?

When you deleted the net_rim_bluetooth .cod, did you load the one from the 4.71 OS you had when it actually worked?

    Thanks RogerG

I actually tried, but it didn't work AND posed some error message.
It doesn't matter though, since I tried loading the old OS and it still didn't work...
I've been searching online for days now and it seems this things is a rather HUGE problem worldwide!

Yeah, the little search I did results in what you found. It's a shame that it happened with a software upgrade, but it's sounding more and more like it could be time to trade your beloved 9630 in for a newer device.

I'll absolutely trade (TRADE!), but who'd be willing to take a non-functioning BT phone?

No, I meant you should upgrade your phone with Sprint. Surely you have an upgrade available with them?

I "downgraded" to Boost, $45/m unlimited; can't bit that!

Not much of a BlackBerry selection on Boost. I have friends who have the 9670 and love it, though.

9670 is cute, but I do need the intn'l version (SIM) as I travel abroad frequently. I'd still prefer to to fix my 9630 though...

I hear ya. As I said, you've done everything I would've done and then some. Someone else might be able to chime in and help you, but I don't have any ideas or suggestions.
