PIN messages are faster than SMS messages I tested this today with a friend. Anyone which to challenge? Or have similar results?

That's correct. Due to PIN messages being send via GPRS and not GSM.

Should be easy to prove-I'm on cingulair-if you are on a different carrier, pin me, and we'll know right now

    PINs will travel across carriers.

Your comment about PIN's being faster than SMS because they travel over GPRS and not GSM is wrong. The network type has nothing to do with it. PINs travel from BB to BB extemely fast because there is nothing slowing them down. SMS travels through gateways and are not guaranteed delivery.

Think about Pin2Pin on other networks... CDMA, iDEN, Mobitex, DataTAC... Nothing about GPRS makes Pin2Pin faster.

I am amazed. It seems no one has heard of the only network which really counts for BB users. The Blackberry network. The reason pin messages work so fast is because the BB network is their highway exclusively.

    Re: PIN Test.

so I understand pin will work with other carriers. I assume it works across countries too, since it uses this blackberry network, correct? Very cool - better than sms then

I think that's one of the best things about it, that it will work across countries without added charges. I can't believe I waited so long to move to BB!
