New to Blackberry, did the switch from WM5

I have been using windows mobile with exchange server for several years, and I'm pleased to say that switching away from WM5 has been the best thing I've done in a long time.

My HTC Wizard (t-mobile MDA) would crash often, and all anyone could tell me was upgrade my ROM, well, I had the latest ROM, and it was no use. It only polled the server for emails every 5 minutes..and directpush was useless.

So, 8700G and very happy to have it.

Re: New to Blackberry, did the switch from WM5

    Thanks everyone for the welcome!

So far I'm in love, its the device I should have switched to a long time ago.

Really the only major question I have is can I create a shortcut key to a specific app? For example, is there a way I could hold down the 0 (Zero) key and the web browser open? When I'm driving I don't like scrolling a lot to get to a specific app.

I also intend on picking an IM app. I've been using Ramble IM with much luck. It does the job very well. I'm debating whether I want to pay for something like IM+ and use more than just AIM or whether I want to just stick to AIM on Ramble and Google on their own app for the BB.

optserenity, Do you have the Dial From Home Screen turned off (Phone App/Options). If so you already have serveral short cuts on your BB. For example B will open the Browser, O for Options, A for Address Book, F for Profiles. Some theme even have the shortcut key undelined in the text that show on the home screen when the Icon has focus.

    Hope this helps
