Hi gbrenner, come to pinstack. I think the 8703 is a better choice as well.

Welcome to Pinstack. I have both, qwerty on the 8700g and suretype on my 7105t. They both have there upsides.

Re: I gave up the 7130e

I'm just really grateful that RIM makes a CDMA 8700 lol. I've really wanted a new BB, but I have sprint and the only new one I could get was the 7130e, which, while great, doesn't have a qwerty keyboard. And that's an interesting point about landscape vs. portrait layouts. I think the landscape layout would be better personally...for anyone who's used both- which is better?

Re: I gave up the 7130e

I've used both layouts, I set up and configure 7100s and 8700s at work. I really can't say which is BETTER but I really do prefer the landscape layout. I feel it gives me more real estate to read messages and such.

Kane, its really all about querty vs. suretype and small form factor vs. er,larger form factor. I have had a 7100x but now use a 8700g and I'm a happy camper.

I have both the 7130c and the 8700c.

For me it's not which one is better as they are so different in terms of form factor and in some other areas.

That's what is so impressive about BlackBerry is we have 3 choices of size and form factor.

Personally I prefer the landscape orientation of the display on my 8700c but I'm not fond of the keyboard with the narrow vertically oriented keys. I prefer the larger keys of the 7130c and SureType which is a really fast way to enter text.

So, my solution was to take a hacksaw and cut them in half. I then glued the display of the 8700 to the keyboard of the 7130c, took it to a friend for rewiring and now I have a hybrid BlackBerry which is perfect.

Not the most elegant solution however it works.....(yeah in my dreams)....

Just kidding of course but hey... I feel better now....

All kidding aside, the pictures of the upcoming 8800 show that they have gone back to normal keys that will be easy to use! I'm ready, money in hand.

    Cheers...

Re: I gave up the 7130e

I now have a 7100i, and an 8703e. The 8703 is a much better phone all around. Very happy with it, even though I prefer suretype, Ithink I am getting used to full qwerty.
