well, somewhere in between your influence and vinyl collection, I just got completely lost. The only rap I really like would be Jedi Mind Tricks.

I listen to hip/hop-rap. I grew up w/ Run DMC, Beastie Boys (Still one of my favs of all time), KRS-One. I like listening to Common, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Eminem. IMO Dr Dre's Chronic is one of the best albums of all time, again IMO. I listen to all types of music but generally always come back to hip/hop as my main listening enjoyment.

My friend produces beats and raps/sings. Dont have his myspace page at work, but I beleive its listed as Da Beat Joint in myspace. Havent been to his page in awhile so not sure what he has on there but I like his stuff.
    IM BACK w/ a new BB 8220!

Do you have the need for speed? Then drive it like you stole it!

imma say either kool herc or russel simmons
it's a pretty hard draw between the two of them

cool hercs breakbeats where completely original and pretty much started the revolution
russel simmons was just a nasty entreprneur for the game
melle mel was loading **** up with "The Message"

but your final answer is Jocko Henderson- Rhythm Talk

there is also Afrika Bambaataa started alot of breakbeat/dj ****
and then herc started the original MC phrase "Kool Herc is in the house and he'll turn it out without a doubt".

the first breakbeat the "amen beat" was taken from the track "The Winstons - Amen Brother" which is on The Winstons- Color him father.

i hope my answer is up to snuff
regardless what alot of people say i don't believe that hiphop was founded by just one record, there was a myriad of influence and alot of it can't be accounted for.

anyways if i'm wrong what record are you talking about?
    i'm addicted.

Almost BBSlice, But good try. The Song is, DrumRoll.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2SKM81jXmc

Apache - Incredible Bongo Band (Break begins on 2:24min)

This is what inspired DJ's, B-Boys, Bombers & MC's... and a whole culture and generation of music.

Thats cool that you spin....Im more of a producer I love, 9th wonder, kryhsis, just blaze, kanye, pete rock, neptunes, timbland. I love more 9th and pete my top 2 producers. My boy produces and tries to replicate their music. I think music is beautiful, like real hip hop, i.e Little Brother. I hate the music now, I puke everytime I hear the radio and B.E.T is not helping..... Listen to them, they have great samples and the chop them so beautifully.

Hip Hop is where Rock was in the 80's
Instead of: Spandex, Lipstick, & Longhair.... It's Bling, Cash & Cars.
Life is a stage and theatrics is in full effect.
