Smile HELP with BB Pin Messenger

Hi All, I am new to the forum, have searched through a lot and not found one which helps, so hope you can!

Had My Blackberry Pearl about 4 weeks now and turned the phone on this morning and BB Messenger had deleted itself!

So first thing i done was download it again from the blackberry website using the desktop manager. The phone then reboots to finish install, turns on and there is no option for messenger in my menu!

I also tried downloading it from the phones internet browser which did the same thing!

I have now tried this loads of times with no success! if i go into setting and advanced options, then applications it shows in there but i have no option to run messenger!

I quickly called RIM (blackberry) who told me to contact T-Mobile whicih I did. T-Mobile can't do anything!

    PLEASE HELP!

Hello Rob and Welcome to the Stacks. The application may be hidden. Try hitting Alt and Click then select "Show All". Search for the icon to see if it was hidden, then you can unhide it.

rob - while in your messages, can you click menu and is there an option for Blackberry Messenger there?

*edit* also - i know the phone reset itself during the install, but have you done an actual battery pull?

rob - you did a wipe? and then a reinstall of the OS?
try plugging your BB in and launching the app loader. scroll down to BB Messenger and see if the box is checked. if not, check it and run app loader. im really grasping at straws now...sorry.

im baffled as to where your BB messenger went...

yeah i did a ipe, then reinstaled the OS.

Right went into desktop manager and application loader and as you said to check black berry messenger, i dont have the option!

When I phoned tmobile the guy got a blackberry pearl, deleted messenger then he did a wipe before myself to make sure it worked...once he reinstalled the OS BB messenger was back! Mines isnt!

Re: HELP with BB Pin Messenger

    sorry i lied lol

when i go into applicatio loader, it says black messenger and under aciont it says "None". so when i ticke the box it changes the action to "remove" so basically it isnt working.

I went to blackberry website, plugged the USB into my phone and hit download on blackberry website and it installs then reboots. once i switch it on i dont have it on my phone (unless i goto option>>>advanced options>>>>applications>>>blackberry messenger), but even within the options and applicatios that only shows i have it, cant load it from there, can only delete it!

so again, any other suggestios welcome as both RIM and TMobile are not making any steps forward!

Re: HELP with BB Pin Messenger

rob - cingular OS will work! it won't actually make you 'move' over to the cingular network - if you changed SIM cards, now that would be a different story
