sir I contacted Globe Telco(thanks to DocGo) with regards to MMS and Internet browsing. I have to activate my BB internet service with them for 450 Php a month. Its the only way MMS service books are going to be sent. Could be the same with Smart Telco

Re: From Philippines, Pls PIN Mess Me..

    hi!

i'm a BB newbie from the Philippines. I got a BB Pearl from my telco as a reward for staying with them for the past 2 years. I picked it because I wanted to see how a BB device works, though to be honest, i'm not quite so sure if I will avail of the BB service.

for those in the other parts of the world, there is no unlimited data plan for BB subscribers here. for my telco, for example, you pay P450/month (just a tad under US$10, depending on exchange rate) for the service and P0.15/kb downloaded. I'm still trying to figure out if that will mean my phone bill will balloon as a result

for those planning to visit the country, and concerned about bb service, just ask away. will try to answer your queries.

    hi crazyprophet,

i see that you also have the pearl. did you ask globe if you could use gprs to fetch your email (like in ordinary smartphones like treos) instead of subscribing to their BIS?

I have been using the service with my SE P990i and was curious to use not only the service but also the phone and im really impressed with my BB 8800. Since Globe wont give me 1. I had the BB 8800 Imprted from Hong Kong. I have used almost all the phones here in Manila name it Dopod, O2, Nokia, Sony Ericsson and all of them have the same thing in common. They all hang! Im have never experienced it with the 8800 hopefully i won't hahahaha. Good Day everyone.
