That sounds like BlackBerry Messenger but PIN to PIN messages are not encrypted unless something recently changed on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

Starting with BES 4.1, I believe pin messages now fall under the Triple DES encryption scheme that BES email used. S/MIME is also now used for pin messages. Normally, PIN messages would not pass threw a BES, but they can now using th admin console.

    Hope that helps!

Oh ok I guess I won't be using BB Messenger if I ever end up working somewhere that has a BES unless they use it LMAO That gives me an excuse to get a 2nd BB just for work LOL

I asked my friend and he says everyone has to have the same encryption to talk to eachother, and people charge $$ to do it?

He has to have the encryption because he is using a BlackBerry Enterprise Server. You don't need that because you're not using a BlackBerry Enterprise Server. What is he being charged for? PIN messages are counted as data so he can't be getting charged for that.

not billed/charged by the provider, but paid a person to install a program on to the blackberry? that uses different encryption for pin to pin and only people who have the same encryption can talk with eachother...??? Has an icon that says "Encrypted Messenger"
