Those Glucose meters look like great gadgets and there are so many of them on the market, I believe it is possible to get them on insurance in the US, I hope that one day they will devise a way to test the sugar levels without having to make wholes in your fingers to get some blood. I see the adverts on TV saying you don't have to prick your fingers anymore as the meters are more sensitive, but you still have to prick yourself somewhere. The thing is you must follow the doctors instructions, and watch yourself. Both of you are doing really well as far as smoking is concerned, if you can beat smoking you can beat anything! One thing that has been proven and I think Del agrees on this is that exercise helps alleviate Diabetes to a large extent, and it is never to late to turn your life around. Keep positive Jay, and take Del's advice he knows what he's doing!
Love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful, and optimistic. And we will change the world. - Jack Layton (1950-2011)
