    damsel in distress

    I have had my bb pearl for 6 months and use IM every day . The IM has now stopped working . Any ideas please as it is lonely without it.

    Yes email and text are all fine. It is just the messenger that has stopped functioning.

    have you tried restarting (pull battery out)? which IM software are you using, oz?

    the actually blackberry messenger, is what im thinking you are talking about? bc there are other apps out there that someone might get confused about when you say "IM"

    when you say stopped working, do you mean no one is getting your messages you are sending?

    Yes i have tried pulling the battery a number of times. I only speak to one person on it so i am wondering if maybe the problem is with his phone.

    Yes, the person I speak to is only getting one message every couple of hours and i am receiving the same. Yes i am talking about the bb messenger. I am not very phone literate, im afraid.

    have him pull his battery...
    is he showing like he is on a call? little circles around the bottom of the smiley?

    this has happened to me and my hubby twice, one of us pulling the battery fixes it...

    The person i speak to has pulled out his battery and swapped it from the pearl to the 8700 and back but it has made no difference.

    yes, thats exactly how it looks. we have tried a number of times but still cant get it to work. its a nuisance.

    i am going to suggest, just bc you only have one contact, to delete him and re-add. see if that works. alternatively, you could try re-installing bbm...you can do that from mobile.blackberry.com

    I called t-mobile and they said i had to go to balckberry for help. My partner also called and they said he had cell congestion.

    yes, we did that too. He has found that he cannot access the internet bbc etc so maybe the problem lies with his phone.
