you can have as many themes as your memory can hold. themes are very large and i would suggest only having one on your berry at a time.

cats is right. It all depends on what else you may already have on your onboard memory. Adding themes to your bb is alright as long as you know how to manage the amount of them and how big the file of each is. Some themes are made animated which makes your bb run slow and also as mentioned hog up your memory resulting in messages lost, emails lost, call logs erased etc etc etc... You can make more room by deleting unwanted or unused applications. If you're trying to go the other route by deleting some of the default themes that your bb came with I would advice against it because custom themes depend on them. I've read far too many stories about people not being able to upload a certain theme because they had deleted some of the default themes from their devices. Remember, animated themes are nice but can take a toll on your device's memory; so beware. Try to clear your cache every day and also avoid overloading your bb with too many themes. If you're start seeing the hourglass continiously on your phone whenever you're trying to access an application...your phone might be already running too slow because of some theme or running low on memory because of them. If you still have more questions about them let us know. Good luck

Like Raton said, it does depend on how you manage your memory. I've currently got 5 themes on my 8320, not counting the 4 dimension themes. I've also got quite a few games. However, I've also deleted apps too, like tasks, voice activated dialing, T-Mo fave 5, password keeper. I don't use those apps, so I don't miss them, and it allows more room for what I do want. I'm currently at 16mb file free.

Also, make sure you do housekeeping on a regular basis, like clearing out call logs, your browser's cache, old messages, etc.

I have about 10 or 12 on mine and have no problem with memory or how fast my phone operates. I have a Curve 8330 v4.3

No, the Phone app is not VAD.

Here's a thread about creating more memory on bb's.

Do this at your own risk!

Also check out this thread on CrackMem.

Didn't mean to hijack the thread, but since I brought up deleting apps, I figured I'd post these links.

sd card is meant for media. you can load some apps there to be installed onto your phones memory but you can't run apps from your card. the easiest way to put media on your sd is to select mass media mode in your options and then just drag and drop.

I counted all of the themes that I have on my phone and I have 23 not including the factory installed themes and my phone operates just fine.

Keep in mind that the 8330 has more memory than the other 8300's, 96mb vs. 64mb.
