Nope. Note, however, that there is an IT policy setting that would allow the admin to disable the ability to use PIN to PIN messaging. (The admin couldn't read your message in that case ... but then you couldn't send them.)

to clarify.....you are saying it is a 2 way conversation that no one has access on the server side to read the messages.

That is correct. The messages do not go through a BES (or BIS) server at all. In fact, you can have a Blackberry that is not "activated" with email at all and you can still do pin to pin messaging.

If you are on a BES, believe me, your ADMIN can see whatever he/she wants to...now, does he/she sit and actually monitor your PIN messaging? I seriously doubt it, unless you've done something wrong?

Cherrydude is right...they can access it if they really want to. It's not the same as how they would access your email. But they can access it nonetheless...so I wouldn't go giving inside stock tips or revealing plans for world domination

I have been told by admin that they can see everything. Suppose it could be a scare tactic but I trust them.

    ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

If you're on BES, they (can) know everything.

When you send a PIN, it goes from your BlackBerry to your BES, then to RIM, then to the receiver's BES/BIS, then to the BlackBerry.

No matter if it's BES or BIS, it's going through RIM and (possibly) being recorded.

Just a point of clarification, By U.S. Law (refered to as the SOX Act) certain Financial Institutions are required to either disable Pin to Pin or Log everthing the goes over it. One of the BES implementation provided the capability to log the Pin Messages, so, it is possible for them to have access to your Pin to Pin messages. I would assume the applies to BB Messenger Messages also, since they use Pin to Pin for transport.

If you are on BES, and you can use BB Messenger, Assume that it may be logged and act accordingly. That is my advice.

    Hope this helps.
