    ranger, Welcome to PinStack.

I believe that you can only sync with personal contacts without being on BES. If you are on a BES, I believe it is possible to sync to a single public address list, but I can't tell you how to do this as I don't know that much about BES. I'm sure if I am wrong, someone will correct me, and soon I hope.

    Hope this helps

Ha ha! I am here! And I'm on BES with Exchange!

Unfortunately, no. You can only sync your Mailbox-You folders. Not even your personal folders will be sync'd, because those are NOT on the Exchange server (they are likely on your local drive or other file server).

As for contacts, your Contacts in your Mailbox-You will be sync'd IF your company's BES is 4.0 or better AND they have provisioned the BES, and you, for wireless sync of contacts/address book, calendar, tasks, memos.

To verify that, go into your address book on your BB, go to Options, then there will be a field "Wireless Synchronisation", with Yes/No. If it's there, and it's set to No, change to Yes. If it's not there, it's not available.

If you've been a long time BlackBerry user with this company and have been upgraded and migrated through the years, your BES account may need some administration by the Administrator if the wireless sync option is not available and you believe it should be.

Same goes for calendar, tasks, and memos.

If your Exchange has a GAL, this is available through the Lookup command.

But public folders cannot be sync'd.

If you want this for wireless access to files/messages/whatever can be found on an Exchange server, consider giving a colleague or assistant permission to a folder in your Mailbox-You. Then have that person copy/save the files there, and they will *poof* appear in your BB. Remember to setup folder reconciliation for this; probably done through Redirector settings in DM.

    Phew! I'm spent...hope I've helped!

    PS-Footnote:

#1 - "Mailbox-You" may also include 'Outlook' in that title.

#2 - though the above works for me, your BES/Exchange/BlackBerry may be provisioned differently. In that case, my words are only a loose guide and likely in vain.

I have found a way to synch contacts and calendar from public folders - but not wirelessly.

Also - I have found that when you set this up, you also have to use an IT policy setting to keep the calendar from changing back to wireless synch each time you plug into the desktop manager again.

I am on BES 4.0, many users, many HHC versions, many device versions...

Let me know if you still need help on this and don't mind the solution won't work wirelessly.
