I have several PIN contacts already but I'm also having a similar issue. I've "request by PIN" on both parties and neither show up on each other's "Pending" list.

It's a pain to add contacts, whereas my other friends have no problems adding contacts when my PIN is not associated with it. If I uninstall & re-install BB Messenger via desktop manager, will I lose all of my current contacts? If I go the www.blackberry.com/messenger, after trying to download the application it gives me a message stating that my device is not compatible.

i'm having the same problems lately too. a friend of mine just picked up a new bb on a different network. he's having no issues adding any of our friends who also use bb messenger, but i'm not able to add anybody on my 8120.

also, i've noticed that on the 8120 and any other device using 4.3 it only lets you add via email and not PIN. anyone else notice this as well?

Try this and see if it works...

    Launch BBM
    Menu
    Add a contact
Scroll to highlight "Use Once" but DO NOT SELECT
    Menu
    Request by PIN

Ok back, tried uninstalling and reinstalling and still doesn't work. I have used every method listed so far. Nothing is working at all. I'm getting very frustrated with it.

I don't understand, we have the same network and same data plan and nothing works. I actually was able to add someone else to my contact list saturday and still am unable to add my girlfriends pin

Update: I've gotten it to a point where both phones have each other "pending," however now both phones do not have the option to "accept" or "decline" as a contact.

This is where I have been for the past week now. I have no opportunity to accept the invitation to use BB Messenger

Wrekonize,I am aware you've tried anything. You keep repeating it I was asking whether you remembered how you got that one contact to work. The symptoms you are describing fit most with not requesting by pin. Are you using the exact pin? Do you use "official" blackberry linked emails or other ones (i.e. Gmail)?

I know, just seems like people don't see that i have tried everything. And the one contact I got to work was the same process I was used to. I did the same use once, request by PIN and entered their pin and worked perfect and was chatting with them within minutes. Neither my girlfriend or I have blackberry emails, what i do is take her phone go to options>status and copy the PIN from there and type it exactly into my Request PIN method. I do this both ways and still pending.

I don't feel like risking my current list of contacts. I guess I will patiently wait until OS 4.5 for some sort of fix.

    Re: Blackberry Messenger

So I called Tmo tonight, they were no help as usual. The first sent me to a higher tech support of whom sent me to the Blackberry Tech support. The blackberry tech support was of no help to me as it seemed i knew more about a blackberry then she did. She got frustrated after 45 mins and just told me that she reset my network and after that reset BB messenger would work. She said to wait 5 mins and it will work. I knew she would be wrong and what do ya know.... It still doesn't work.

I am beginning to think it's now a lost cause.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ haha tech support never works. WE should be the ones doing tech support work. Lol check to make sure both phones have the same version of blackberry messenger as well as the same os. Check the platform as well. This shouldn't matter, but I'm grasping at straws trying to help you put! Lol
