How can we have a President who isn't caught up with the times?

John McCain 'technology illiterate' doesn't email or use internet

    Just and interesting fact...

"At least John McCain knows the difference between a laptop and a lap dance."

While Cindy McCain has been spotted scrolling her BlackBerry, John McCain tends to be handed a BlackBerry to talk on. Barack Obama, on the other hand, is one of those guys so intent on reading his BlackBerry that he could run into something.
He is a BlackBerry fiend says his spokesperson. Has a laptop on the road and sometimes uses it to talk to his daughters and surfs the Web when he is in need of important information such as sports scores.

Not that McCain is my first choice, but do you actually think the Joint Chiefs will be better off with a President Obama because he'll go off and 'google' "military strategy" (or maybe he'll PIN msg Michelle?) to command them? Hmmm.....somehow I doubt it.

^^Lol I wonder if he is on one of the BB sites with an alias or something...?

That would be awesome. Especially if it was PinStack.

Obama using a Berry is not the argument, that is the fun fact lol.

The argument is that Obama is up to speed and McCain has been lagging for 50+ years...

I just read McCain is attemtping to learn to use the interwebs. Even so, it may turn out just as good as the famous quote" it's a series of tubes."

Technology is the issue at hand. I want a Prez who knows how to use MODERN technology, it's not so much ask.

Our current Prez can "go on the internets and find himself" that's about it. I mean come the frick on. REALLY?

    Point taken...

You seem like a relatively young person... you're assessment of "up to speed" is that someone understands/utilizes up to date technology that you obviously associate with. The US has existed for over 200 years, and the world even longer... so it's nice to have a little background knowledge.

For example, just a personal experience, but doctors-- my daughter's first pediatrician... younger lady in a big group practice. Good medical school, yadda yadda. When she had a fever or some rash, etc, her answer is "run blood work" or give her this medicine that tastes like cement mix 3 times a day. 3 weeks later, she's still feeling bad...

Paid out of pocket/out of network for her next doctor, older guy (graduated Med school in like 1962 or something). I described her symptoms/behavior, he took a physical diagnosis instead of running "lab" work (medicine's latest machinery, technology, etc.)... asked me "why are you giving her this medicine... this is useless; all you did is make her suffer for 3 weeks" (he was a good doctor, but kind of the 'grumpy old man' type)....gave her an innoculation b/c the meds covered up symptoms and just prolonged her viral infection.... she was fine within 2 days.

Bottom line....latest technology is great and certainly can be handy, but experience goes a long way.

Experience as in 61 flip flops and counting for McCain...

Seems to me like he is not all that experienced if he can't make up his mind.

Exactly the point I was going to make. Thank you!

Good point, but bad argument. Medical practitioners are supposed to be constantly going to seminars and learning more about their field.

It is unfortunate that there are doctors out there that get the degree, get the money, and are lazy for the rest of their career prescribing BS medication just to "please" the patient or patient's parents.

We are in a world and age where technology, and knowing technology, is what makes the difference.

If an advisor came up to McCain and said "Sir, we have a serious situation. A hacker has just penetrated the DOD's firewall and placed a viral program that will enable him to take control of all our virtual defense databases, leaving the United States powerless against virtual attacks from other hackers. It seems to be some sort of trojan or worm that is constantly siphoning our defense information to a secure server which we can not locate because he has figured out a way to block our internet protocol tracking technology."

How long do you think it would take McCain to digest that information, let alone understand it?

In a situation like that, I think Googling through a Berry (Obama) is more effective than flipping through pages in a dictionary (McCain).

This is all hypothetical, but you get my point.

And if you want to argue experience...

I think going to Harvard and Columbia holds more experience than going to the United States Naval Academy, no offense to the Naval Academy of course.
