Hey all, another green horn here! I had NO idea we could do so much with the Blackberry! I feel like I need to spend a DAY reading these posts and getting all the cool stuff for my Blackberry. I've been so dissapointed in the phone too because I couldn't get it to do very much! I downloaded Opera mini on it but I keep getting an error message saying I'm not connected to the network. Hopefully I can learn how to do all this stuff from this forum! Thanks for being here!

WOW! Thanks for the warm welcome! Like I said I'm just learning so I don't even know what I'm trying to do! It would be nice if I could get an internet browser so I can check my MySpace messages from my blackberry. Anyone know if that's possible? Does anyone use Opera or should I just remove that from my Blackberry?
Welcome to Pinstack!!!
Each device has a unique PIN number. It identifies the device on the network. One use of this is messaging is that you can send a message to another person (or device to be more specific) by using their pin as an address.
You can get the BB messanger by going to http://www.blackberry.com/messenger/entry.do
You then use it like Yahoo, or AOL, or MSN.
Man, lately I'm always the last to say welcome to PinStack!!
A PIN is a unique identification number assigned to your Blackberry. You can find it by holding down your Alt and Cap keys and hitting H. The PIN is used for sending messages to other Blackberry users as well as Blackberry Messenger, which is similar to Yahoo, AOL or MSN Messenger.
I'm sure the PIN serves other purposes but those are what I use it for.
wait, I could swear there was a question on what a pin was??? thats what I was answering.
ok, so im not going nuts then. lol
You do have a BB Data Plan, properly activated for your BB, and you have set up the BIS with the PIN and IMEI. You need a BB Data Plan to use any data services on your BB. On your home screen, up at the top do you see GSM, gprs, GPRS, edge, EDGE or Data Connection Refused?Originally Posted by jestertrent
If you do not have a BB Data plan you will need to call CS and have them add it.
Hope this helps.
