If you are using a BB that is part of a corporate plan using an enterprise server, do emails addressed to PINs still end up in the corporate server, or are they more "private"?

BES is LESS private as far as PIN messages... they all end up on the server.

However, more secure/private as far and no one else BUT the BES server admin will have access to your private data.

Are PINs global? If I am sending to a friend's PIN, does it matter whether the friend's BlackBerry is around the corner from me, or on the other side of the world?

Welcome to PinStack.

Not at all it uses the blackberry network so it will not make any difference.

Let us know if there is anything else we can do to help with your BlackBerry.

sorry i am newbie and trying to get knowledge from all of you

can any body explain how pin messages route to other. i mean when i send pin message, is that work like following

My BB ---> nearest BB network -----? finding Receiver BB Location ----> Deliver to Receiver

or some other way...? Also when we talk about BB network does it mean RIM network. is any part of RIM in BB Network beside we use their device(BB).

I am very confused about the blackberry messenger, only blackberry users can use this right? I've tried to add a friend using her email, and she received the request but there was no link, and is it anything like using aim or yahoo????
Also how do you get your own pin? or is it your email?
Thanks,
MaryJo

a PIN is blackberry specific. each bb has a pin assigned that cannot be changed or altered. your friend must have a blackberry and the email you use must be the one on here bb. to find your PIN number on your bb, just hold down alt. and type r.a.c.e. be sure that your on the home screen

any other questions?

During 9\11 the only phones working in the area were Blackberries, and that's why everyone in Washington and people in Emergency Services are required to have Blackberries now. They work. Always.
If anyone has a more complete answer, I'd be interested to hear the technical explanation.
Thx dtx, GREAT explaination!

Re: All about Blackberry PIN peer-to-peer messaging.

I'm an experienced phone freak and was popular for pimping most symbian phones as well as Treos and PDAs. My entrance into the BB world has found me yet again pimping! my pin is 20577C82 if you care to know the hows and wheres to get your phone pimped to the core.
To answer your question, since Pins are sent via GPRS via the servers of BB, you will be required to have net service before you can send PIN messages.

No, you must have all-caps network service to send PIN messages or use BB messenger.

(Ie: 1X, 1XEV, GPRS, EDGE, or NXTL)
