| Re: JVM Error 102 - Step by Step Fix
I have had to do this twice (wipe out my 8100 and reinstall using the jl_cmdr). Both times my desktop settings changed and the icons, fonts etc all got bigger, too big almost for some of the internet stuff to load. I can't remember what I did last time to fix it so that would be useful also has anyone else run into this problem with the desktop?

| Re: JVM Error 102 - Step by Step Fix
One important step not mentioned; which kept me wondering around and retrying the process for over 100 times and going through 3 different computers assuming the freaker was not communicating right, was simply: a) After you "wipe" the system, the screen will continue to show "error 400"; no matter what you do (no matter what I did); and, b) You must download the current software from your service provider and install it appropriately. In my case, "b" was another rock in my path: the desktop program kept loading ahead of the provider software. So, I deleted it from the STARTUP group; rebooted the computer and ran the provider software install; which, in turn, by the end, requested to run the desktop. At this point, finally, everything worked fine. Thank you anyways as, without the steps here, I would not have gotten anywhere. |

Hi, I have a BB8700g and I guess a jvm problem. It all started after i tried to upload a java program with the desktop manager. The BB turns on, it shows the hourglass for about 5 seconds and the the screen turns off. I´ve tried alt+caps+del, taking the battery off (30 seconds... a while...), and to wipe the device with java commander and the java loader. This is what I get: javaloader -usb wipe RIM Wireless Handheld Java Loader Copyright 2001-2005 Research In Motion Limited Connecting to device...Error: unable to open port Can someone help me??? |

Cherri, I've downloaded a file: BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.2.1.108 (Multilanguage) Package Version: 4.2.1.108 Consisting of: * Applications: 4.2.1.66 * Software Platform: 2.3.0.59 * File name: 8700M_PBr4.2.1_rel108_PL2.3.0.59_A4.2.1.66_Telefon ica_VE.exe * File size: 59.14MB I can't find where it put the files, since it doesn't ask for a path. Can you give me the name of the files I should search for? Thanks |

dwan -- you are running DM 4.2.2.14 right? if not, you will need to upgrade to that. the path to delete the vendor.xml file *should* be this, if you let it default C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader |

Cherry, more information the command java aLoader enum successfulyy returns 0x204e8c0d but other commands like: "javaloader -usb -p0x204e8c0d wipe" or "javaloader -u -p0x204e8c0d wipe" or "javaloader -u -p0x204e8c0d wipe" or "javaloader -usb wipe" return "Connecting to device...Error: unable to open port". The same with the command "deviceinfo". |
